Nightmare had heard a rumor, and a legend, an interesting one at that. Apparently, in a crypt under the catle, lay a crypt. A crypt of a well known hero to the people who spoke of him. A hero of ages long past, who preformed in the wars with sterling results. A hero who's name had been lost to history, being referred to only as the Black Knight of Alexandria. This legend piqued Nightmare's curiosity, and he decided to check it out.
Apparently, the guards allowed visitations, as they let him him into the crypt without any questions. Though several guards were posted inside the crypt itself, probably to prevent any thefts of the remains. It made sense, such a hero would be valuable as a ransom to any witty graverobber. Of course, Nightmare wasn't really here to steal anything. He just wanted to learn about this being who people spoke so highly of, despite the lack of name.
Nightmare wandered through the crypt, his boots clicking along the stone floor. The environment lit by a few torches, it was still a bit dark. The guards remained ever vigilant, spears by their sides as they stood unmoving, ready to give their lives to protect the remains of this deceased war hero. Such devotion to the corpse. This was definitely admiration in its highest form.
Nightmare eventually found the remains, seeing the body encased in glass. The body however, was that of a pitch black suit. Engravings were made all over the armor, giving it a cruel appearance. The helmet had a small slit in the eyes, with a long blue cloth sprouting from the back of its head, seemingly floating down the back. Tassels sprouted from the back as well, hanging like ribbons. Its arms were held in front of it, grasping a dark sword in its mighty grip. On the glass, a golden plaque with a unique inscription.
The Black Knight, though his true name has been lost to all, his heroic deeds shall never be forgotten. Those that disturb this hero, shall suffer true loss of body and mind, and death will reign around them.
"A curse, huh? Well, you've certainly immortalized yourself, haven't you?" Nightmare gazed at the unmoving suit of armor. He was talking with a corpse. Of course, the suit didn't respond at all. It kept it's helm high, unmoving, having not moved for years. "I'm curious. Who are you, really?" Nightmare presented another question to the armor.

An odd little sound issued from behind Nightmare. Well, it wasn't so little, but it definitely was odd. A sort of... grunt? A moo? Something big was definitely behind Nightmare and it didn't seem that friendly. Yet Tama-chan was relatively friendly compared to most fiends (and most hippos at that) and merely wanted Nightmare to get out of the way. Bachi had used himself as a distraction as suddenly there was the clamor of a sword fight not far from Nightmare and two cries of pain from the guards as they were slowly knocked out. While Bachi was taking care of the guards, Tama-chan had taken the time to sneak down to wear the body of the Black Knight was. He had maintained complete invisibility to everyone, and calmly had watched Nightmare talked to the armor. Yet the guards were almost all unconscious now, so Tama-chan asserted his presence gently and softly pushed Nightmare out of the way, bringing himself as close as he could to the glass case. He then tapped it with his horns twice, as if he was aiming before he reared his head back and smushed it into the case, sending glass flying. Of course, Tama-chan's tough hide protected him from any wounds, and he calmly (heck, adorably) stretched his neck out and clasped the hilt of the blade the Knight held with his teeth, pulling it out with another grunt. As if to thank Nightmare for being quiet, Tama-chan then turned his head to him, grunting in a slightly higher pitched tone before stomping off as if nothing had happened, a valuable blade in his teeth and leaving a single question that dumbfounded anyone who was asked it.
How exactly did a blue skinned, horned, fiend hippo laden down with supplies sneak into a heavily guarded crypt?
"Oh, you're back Tama-chan! That thing looks even better when held outside the glass!" Bachi greeted his pet, taking the blade from Tama-chan and taking a moment to look at it. It was an evil blade, that was for sure. The edges seemed to scream at the air slightly as he held it, noticing that the blade definitely seemed different now that someone was holding it. This blade could tell when it was being wielded. Bachi didn't take too long though, looking into a blade like that for too long tended to make the blade look back. He slipped it into the big holster he had over his back, crossed over the one that held Murasame forming an X shape. He hopped up onto Tama-chan's back, patting him twice with a call of "Hai hai." causing Tama-chan to begin his walk towards the outside of the crypt. There was no chance that people would realize it until it was too late. The guards had seemed to have been knocked out in the span of a few instants, with a combination of light cuts and head trauma with a blunt object. The oddest thing was, their weapons, shields and armor had been cut up, and the cut was so thing it left a surface smooth and shining like glass.
Bachi let the tip of his white and red cane lie on top of Tama-chan's head, in between the horns. With taps and motions, he could tell Tama-chan what to do and basically steer him. He sat with his legs crossed on Tama-chan's back, seeing the light that was the entrance just ahead as his head began to try and break down the composition of the blade from what he had just seen of it.

Nightmare turned on his heel when he heard the cry of the fallen guards. Rather than see two corpses and the assailant, he saw a giant blue hippo. Nightmare himself was quite confused at this. It didn't stop the hippo from gently pushing him aside. The hippo broke the glass with its horns, seeming unaffected by it all. It grabbed the blade with its mouth, pulling it away and returning to its master, who seemed to be the assailant.
Most people would've called them out on killing the guards. Nightmare didn't really care, after all, he killed twelve back in Ivalice. As the other two seemed close to leaving, the crypt doors slammed shut. Closing the three in. A dark blue barrier appeared around the door, crackling with what appeared to be electricity. Nightmare wanted to test this new event for him self. Picking up a piece of glass, he hurled it towards the barrier, as it closed in, a lightning bolt struck the glass, coming from the barrier.
That wasn't the end though. Nightmare immediately found himself on the ground with the wind knocked out of him. He pulled himself to his feet, looking on to see the suit of armor running at the two at inhuman speed. It wanted its sword back. That curse was right, it really was a true loss. He called out to them. "I think he's after the sword. You might have to get rid of it. I wouldn't want to take on a pissed off legendary hero, but that's just me."
The Black Knight stopped a few feet in front of the two, holding out its hand with a red glare in its eye slot. It was obviously demanding the sword be returned to him. Nightmare looked over to the other two. He came up with an idea. "I bet he goes wherever that sword is. Toss it somewhere in the crypt, I bet he'll follow it." Nightmare offered some advice.

His jaw dropped open. The curse was REAL!? HOW WAS HE SUPPOSED TO KNOW THAT!? Tama-chan grunted in a "I told you so" manner, prompting Bachi to quietly hiss "Shut it!" while tapping him hard on the head twice with the cane. He heard footsteps behind him, and for a moment Nightmare saw the true Bachi, as Bachi immediately grasped the top end of his can like the hilt of a sword, turning around in a flash with his cane held against his waist like a katana. For that mere moment, Nightmare would be looking at a murderer simply from the annoyed look in Bachi's eye. Bachi soon saw that although Nightmare was armed, he seemed friendly and that moment passed as Bachi's other hand was now open and waving at the other man, a smile now on his face. Heck, help in getting out was a good thing, and from the looks of the sword Nightmare carried, he was a knight. The knights here were good people right? Even if Bachi had committed a crime, they should theoretically be obsessed with the greater good and working together to get out.
He watched idly as Nightmare tested the barrier, and jumped with an astounded look on his face as the piece of glass was promptly obliterated. Looked like if Bachi wanted to get out of here with the least amount of energy spent, he'd have to find an alternate way. Of course at the sound of more footsteps, Bachi first assumed that maybe Nightmare had a friend with him to. He hadn't been down in the center of the crypt after all. Yet his hopes were dashed as Nightmare was soon punched in the gut by a mean looking figure in armor, the dead red eyes obviously of spiritual nature. Bachi took his options into account as Nightmare told him of the sword. Give it back, run off and try again another day. Or, he could take this guy down and run off with a shiny new blade. He seemed quite formidable after all. Bachi wanted to know the secrets of this wielder and how he could produce so much power in a blade with a single soul.
Bachi leap off Tama-chan, patting his pants as the Knight waited for his sword. Bachi's cane was now tied to his left hip, as if Bachi was going to draw it out like a blade. What happened next took place in the moment for the clicking noise of Bachi's cane to fly through the air. His right hand went to the cane, and pulled on it, causing the cane to click as his left hand held the area below the right. It was a sword cane. A sharp looking one at that, as Bachi drew out the blade quickly, aiming to slice off the hand the Black Knight held out. "Sorry," He said, both to Nightmare and the Knight But I have research to attend to." the straight edged blade he had was definitely different from any other katana. It gleamed slightly, but the edge definitely seemed... hungry. Bachi continued with the assault, testing the speed and endurance of his opponent by trying a combination move to knock him away. He grabbed the blade with both hands, bringing it diagonally across the Knight's legs fast enough to make the air whistle. He then aimed to use the momentum of the swing to spin himself around, hoping the Knight would fall onto the floor, using the spin to defensively grip the blade in reverse with both hands to bring it down to stab the Knight. If he got that, he'd then rip the blade out and lift a leg up to kick the Knight in the head as far away as possible.
Or at least, that's what he wanted to do.

The Black Knight retracted its hand before the blade could strike. It seemed the young man was going to fight after all. It didn't seem to mind in the least, it seemed so prepared. It jumped back at the diagonal slash, taking the opening for the stab he was trying to do, the Black Knight moved over with frightening speed to the other's right side. It just wanted its sword back, and it would go to great lengths to acquire it. The Black Knight grabbed Bachi's right arm with its right hand. Taking its other hand to the elbow of Bachi's right arm. With inhuman strength, it began to push on the elbow with all its might. It was attempting to dislocate Bachi's right arm. If successful, Bachi would be using one hand until he could pop it back into place. To compliment the unarmed assault, the Black Knight raised his right leg, using the opening in an attempt to slam it into Bachi's stomach.
"For the love of all that is holy! Just give him back the damn sword!" Nightmare shouted to the young man, hoping to at least convince him of some logic. This thing was a legendary hero. It couldn't have just been the sword that gave him all his strength. That'd be like the costume giving the superhero his powers. It just wasn't a reasonable thing. The Black Knight had to be good in other fields otherwise he wouldn't be the hero he was.
"Toss it over here at least!" Nightmare called out. He held his arms out. Truthfully, he wanted the sword. He'd be damned if he lost it to this guy. But with the abilities the Black Knight was beginning to show, it may just have been better if he tossed it back to the war hero in front of the other man.
